St Austel Brewery
St Austel is a Cornwall indipendent brewery. Born in 1851 thanks to Walter Hicks, St Austel has being preserved its indipence thanks to the alternation of descendants and investors who worked for mantaining the brewery as free as possible from the multinational companies. Nowadays St Austel owns 180 pubs in the South-West of the Country, and produces traditional English style beers, cask or bottle conditioned, using Cornish malt and a yeast developed into the brewery. Beers are well balanced, with drinkability as one of the most important characteristic.
