Pubblichiamo la traduzione di un interessante post pubblicato sul blog Beerreviews (www.beerreviews.co.uk) nel quale vengono assaggiate alla cieca e pubblicate le note di degustazione di tre versioni di Punk Ipa: lattina, nuova e vecchia versione.
Ecco a voi:
Negli ultimi tempi si è fatto un gran parlare della Punk Ipa di BrewDog, innanzitutto per il fatto che il birrificio ha prodotto una versione di questa birra detta Punk X, (il prototipo della nuova Punk Ipa, ndr) un esperimento che aveva l'obiettivo di testare una nuova versione di Punk, e che è stata rilasciata in bottiglia e in cask...

Poco dopo aver prodotto questo prototipo, Brewdog ha annunciato che avrebbe iniziato a confezionare la Punk Ipa in lattine che avrebbero contenuto la nuova versione di questa birra (...) così ho deciso di fare ciò che tutti stavano facendo: comparare alla cieca la birra in lattina con quella denominata Punk X, e per completare la degustazione ho deciso di mettere in queste mix anche una bottiglia della Punk Ipa originale.
Dal momento che non avrei aperto e versato le birre - in modo da evitare di sapere quale fosse la birra assaggiata in quel momento - sebbene fossi piuttosto sicuro di riconoscere le birre dopo averle viste e assaggiate, ho dato un'occhiata più attenta al nuovo packaging prima di riporre le Punk in frigorifero. Devo dire che le nuove lattine sono davvero belle, lo stile Punk si adatta molto bene alla lattina e la mette in risalto, l'unico appunto è che ricordano molto le lattine delle bibite e questo potrebbe far aggrottare qualche soppracciglio.
Comunque, dopo essermi seduto sulla mia poltrona preferita è arrivato il primo bicchiere.

Here the tasting notes of the Brewdog’s brand new beer.
Deeply dark, with a compact and cappuccino-like colour foam. Very complex at the nose with roasted sensation of toasted nuts, cocoa and fresh and balsamic hints. In the mouth the sensations we had at the nose are even better presented: the body is surprisingly light and the beer evolves from a sweet and round beginning with nuances of dark chocolate, to bitter/aromatic/resinous notes given by hops. These dominate the end of the tasting, leaving an almost liquorice feel that mingle well with the intense roasted sensations. Carbonation is really smooth and velvety. The very end is incredibly fresh in a beer really well built in the managment of body, structure and alcohol. |

The production of Abstrakt range beers, created by Brewdog almost one year ago, is going on. The new beer, AB:05, is defined by the brewery as Belgian Imperial Stout. For sure an inedit style; the result of the fusion between the classic recipe of an Imperial Stout and the fermentation with a Belgian yeast. At the end of the fermentation AB:05 has aged for 4 months on loads of chips of toasted cocconut and a huge quantity of cocoa.
